ERP/CRM Architect

Description

We are looking for an ERP/CRM Architect to join a construction and contractor-focused organization in Chicago, Illinois on a Long-term Contract basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on architecture specialist who can evaluate existing enterprise systems, produce clear technical documentation, and translate complex environments into practical roadmaps. You will play a key part in shaping architectural standards, capturing the current state across the business, and supporting broader platform alignment initiatives.

Responsibilities:
Assess the organization's existing enterprise application and infrastructure landscape and create accurate representations of current-state architecture.
Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, technical documentation, process maps, and supporting artifacts for cross-functional stakeholders.
Produce actionable roadmaps that guide system alignment, modernization efforts, and future-state planning.
Partner with business and technical teams to document dependencies, integration points, and operational considerations across platforms.
Support organizational consolidation initiatives by defining architectural approaches and documenting how core platforms fit within the broader environment.
Establish and reinforce architecture standards that improve consistency, governance, and technical decision-making.
Create detailed system flows and design visuals that communicate complex concepts in a practical and accessible way.
Contribute directly to technical deliverables, balancing strategic architecture work with hands-on documentation and design execution.

Requirements

Proven experience in enterprise architecture within complex business environments.
Strong ability to create and maintain architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and process flow materials.
Demonstrated success performing current-state architecture assessments and translating findings into structured documentation.
Hands-on experience developing architectural roadmaps and system design artifacts rather than working only at a high-level strategy layer.
Background supporting platform consolidation or enterprise alignment initiatives, ideally in large-scale organizational environments.
Familiarity with architecture standards and governance practices.
Knowledge of technologies such as DevOps, enterprise storage, Group Policy Objects, and server virtualization.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to varied audiences.
