Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Manufacturing Technician II for an onsite position with a Global Life Sciences Company located in Chelmsford, MA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is directly involved in the production of chromatography resin and provides assistance to maintenance and distribution teams as needed. The ideal candidate will be a proactive member of the manufacturing team, working on assignments with mentorship from senior personnel in a large-scale, chemical batch manufacturing process.
Responsibilities: - Perform duties within corporate EH&S Standards, placing the utmost emphasis on safety and quality
- Operate various process equipment including reactors, pressure filters, pumps, filling, labeling and packaging equipment according to written SOPs/UOPs
- Perform and train new employees on various activities to carry out unit operations such as equipment changeovers with Lock Out Tag Out and Confined Space protocols, Elutriation processes, finished product discharges, R-Bead polymerization processes, and Bead Coating processes
- Maintain batch and equipment records per the department's ISO13485 standards and Good Documentation practices
- Work with the team on 5S and continuous improvement activities within the work center, including cleaning activities
Requirements: - High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, chemical, biotech, or lab setting
- Knowledge of computer applications
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interpret data, perform basic calculations, and have troubleshooting skills
- Ability to stand for 80% of the shift, move approximately 40 lbs up one flight of stairs, and push 55-gallon drums on wheeled dollies
- Ability to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including work uniform, steel-toe shoes, hair net, safety glasses, bump cap, and nitrile gloves; may also include face shield, a respirator, and smock
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
Desired skills: - Experience in a cGMP environment
- Experience with Delta V and/or SAP
Pay range: up to $26.99 per hour
