Java Developer (Contract)
Location: Plano, TX (100% Onsite)
Duration: 12-month W2 contract with potential extension
Pay Rate: $55–$63/hour (based on experience)
Client: Fortune 100 Financial Services Organization (via Russell Tobin)
Overview
Russell Tobin is supporting a leading global financial services organization in hiring experienced Java Developers to help build and modernize next-generation core platforms. This is a hands-on development role focused on scalable, cloud-based, event-driven systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications
- Build and enhance event-driven microservices architectures
- Own the full software development lifecycle (coding, testing, deployment)
- Write clean, efficient, and testable code
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Collaborate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies
What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications>
- 7+ years of experience with Java
- 5+ years of experience with Spring Framework
- 2+ years of cloud experience (AWS preferred)
- Strong experience designing and building event-driven microservices
- Experience working with relational databases
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building and deploying cloud-native applications (AWS preferred)
- Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
- Strong understanding of design patterns and software architecture
- Experience in the financial services industry
- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases

- 1st Round: Coding and Technical Video Interview (MS Teams)
- 2nd Round: Onsite Technical Discussion
