Day-to-Day Responsibilities
The AMI 2.0 IT Project Manager will lead end-to-end delivery of the Technology Integration (TI) workstream while equally owning financial estimating, budgeting/forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting to ensure scope, schedule, and spending are managed transparently and on plan. Will prepare resource plans and develop and maintain elements of the integrated project plan (IPP), maintain project schedules, and work breakdown structures. Responsibilities include:
Prepare, analyze, manage and deliver regular financial reports, tracking TI expenditures for the AMI 2.0 program releases including variances and forecasts; collaborating closely with TI management and technical teams.
Coordinate project activities across technical and business teams to ensure alignment with milestones and deliverables, i.e., solution analysis and design deliverables align with functional needs and technical delivery.
Track scope against baseline requirements and support change control process; document scope changes, assess impacts, and escalate risks to senior leadership as needed ensuring traceability between requirements, design, and deliverables.
Maintain clear documentation of financial transactions and project milestones for audit and compliance purposes.
Identifying risks, opportunities, and recommending corrective actions as needed.
Support procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiations related to TI and financial components of the project.
Required Skills/Attributes
Broad IT infrastructure knowledge ability to see the big picture and ensure no gaps in delivery.
Strong analytical skills, quantitative analysis and ability to develop dashboards and reports using advanced excel functions and other analytics tools.
Project management experience with managing and supporting large enterprise initiatives with multiple workstreams and releases, multi-year schedule and financials.
Demonstrates strong communication, problem-solving, management of risks/issues, and cross-functional leadership engagement.
Ability to quickly integrate into a fast-paced, large program, understand their role, absorb information rapidly, and deliver results efficiently with appropriate level of direction and guidance.
Strong blend of business insight and technical proficiency to bridge the gap between stakeholder needs and technological solutions.
Ability to personally execute day-to-day PM deliverables, in addition to overseeing and delegation. Must be adaptable, open to feedback, and able to take on other responsibilities as assigned.
Bachelor s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field.
3+ years of experience in project management with a strong focus on financial planning and analysis, preparing and managing financial estimates, budgets, and reports.
Experience with similar large-scale utility technology programs, i.e., AMI 2.0, Grid Mod, etc.
Desired Skills/Attributes
Experience with AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) smart grid, or large Electric Utility technology and infrastructure projects: AMI 1.0 or 2.0 recommended (at minimum some 1.0 exposure).
Experience with system integrations (MDMS, head-end systems, OMS, SAP, ADMS).
Experience delivering/developing technical information to a non-technical audience.
PMP or CAPM certification.
Master s degree in Finance, Business, or relevant discipline.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and financial compliance in utility or IT sectors.
Strong track record in vendor management and IT contract negotiations.
