About This Role:
• Hiring Process: Online code assessment first, followed by an in-person interview if you pass.
• Hiring Event: In-person face-to-face (F2F) interviews start on October 6th.
• Team Expansion: Filling 5 urgent senior software engineering positions for this new project.
• Work Setup: Hybrid model (contract: 6+ months with extension) based out of Rockville, MD or McLean, VA.
• Core Project: Architecting and building GenAI-based insights and tools for investigators to conduct investigations more efficiently.
The Engineering Focus:
• Seeking senior backend application engineers with a strong track record of technical leadership and product-focused engineering.
• Focusing heavily on designing reliable third-party integrations and leading the deployment of new features seamlessly.
• Taking ultimate ownership of managing, optimizing, and troubleshooting live production systems to ensure maximum uptime.
• Driving the architecture that integrates cutting-edge Generative AI models directly into production-ready software workflows.
Core Responsibilities:
• Senior Application & Integration Engineering: Design, architect, and optimize complex backend applications while leading the transition of brand-new capabilities smoothly into production.
• GenAI Workflow Architecture: Oversee the implementation and integration of Generative AI capabilities directly into engineering workflows to maximize operational efficiency.
• Production System Ownership: Take full ownership of managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting active, critical live software systems in production environments.
• AI & Developer Innovation: Champion and utilize modern AI-assisted development and automated code-generation platforms to accelerate developer productivity across the team.
• Serverless & Lightweight Engineering: Leverage and design lightweight infrastructure and serverless architectures to manage application logic and high-performance software pipelines.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with engineering leads, product stakeholders, and investigation teams to deliver secure, resilient, and enterprise-grade tools.
Mandatory Requirements:
• Experience: Minimum 7+ years of professional software engineering experience (Senior-level focus).
• Core Code: Expert backend experience coding in either Java or Python.
• AWS Infrastructure: Deep, hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services, with a specific focus on serverless frameworks and AWS Lambda.
• Production Operations: Proven track record of owning live production environments and successfully launching brand-new, enterprise-scale applications.
• AI Tooling: Hands-on experience utilizing GenAI tools for code generation (Kiro experience is helpful but not required; comparable tools are acceptable).
