Design Engineer

Payrate: $54.00 - $55.00/hr.
 
Position’s Contributions to Work Group

• Design foundry tooling using Creo software, following established standards and best practices for the no-bake molding process
• Focus on improving tooling quality and reducing lead time for tooling construction

• Prepare RFQs for tooling
• Design new pattern tooling
• Troubleshoot and resolve casting issues
• Perform re-gating and simulation analysis
• Support additional tooling and process-related tasks as needed

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree required
• Internships are not considered as experience

• Foundry engineering experience (tool quotation, casting defect analysis, process knowledge including no-bake and cold box processes)
• Foundry tooling design experience (pattern/core box design, complex modeling, parting lines, offsets, clearances, tool layout)
• Creo modeling and casting simulation using SolidCast

• Strong CAD skills (Creo preferred)
• Ability to read machining prints and understand geometric tolerances
• Casting simulation experience (SolidCast preferred)

• CNC milling knowledge

• Ability to work with and guide suppliers on tooling build projects
• Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization
• Disqualifiers / Red Flags / Overqualification
• No foundry experience
• No tooling design experience using CAD

 
Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $54.00 - $55.00 /hr. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
