Job Description
Client explores, innovates, and designs novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. We seek a Research Assistant to support human subjects research studies, working with an interdisciplinary team and cutting-edge facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting human behavioral experiments and managing research workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Stage, set up, and manage equipment and lab spaces for experiments.
- Conduct experiments, including informed consent, protocol execution, handling confidential data, data annotation, and basic report creation.
- Perform literature reviews across relevant research topics.
- Assist with recruiting and scheduling experiment participants.
- Support experimental design, documentation, and provide feedback during design.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology (e.g., neuroscience), cognitive science (e.g., artificial intelligence), computer science (e.g., human-computer interaction), engineering (e.g., human factors), or a closely related research area.
- Minimum 3 years of experience; at least 1 year in a human subjects research environment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and personal management skills.
- Onsite availability, 5 days per week in Redmond, WA.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience analyzing data and designing research protocols.
- Experience collecting user interaction data and working with related technical equipment (e.g., IMUs for inertial sensing, optical sensing, EMG).
- 1+ years of experience in a human subjects research environment.
