Job Profile Builder (JPB) - Overview and Enablement of Job Profile Builder (JBP)
• Job Profile Builder (JPB) is a platform tool within SAP SuccessFactors that enables organizations to create comprehensive job profiles containing responsibilities, skills, competencies, and qualifications. These profiles explain job characteristics shared across positions, providing consistency in job descriptions throughout your organization. The tool organizes descriptions into families and roles, creating a structured library that integrates across the SuccessFactors ecosystem.
SAP JPB is built on the Metadata Framework (MDF), which allows for efficient management of data with secured object definitions and hierarchy. It is a successor to the legacy Job Description Manager (JDM) and is sometimes referred to as JDM v2.0. JPB supports job architecture and related content libraries, making it a highly recommended tool for integrated talent management processes.
Zalaris JPB is designed to be used with or without Employee Central and can be used to build complete job profiles with multiple content types. It allows for the creation of individual performance profiles based on established roles within Families and Roles.
The SAP SuccessFactors Metadata Framework (MDF) is an extensibility platform that allows users to create and manage custom objects within SAP SuccessFactors without writing any code. It is designed to help organizations build new applications or extend existing ones to meet their specific business needs.
Key Features
MDF provides a range of features that enable users to build end-to-end applications:
• Object Configuration: Users can define and manage objects in the data model using an intuitive UI. This includes adding custom fields, associations, workflows, business rules, and security configurations.
• Custom Fields and Associations: Users can add custom fields to existing objects and create parent-child associations to extend the scope of access.
• Business Rules and Workflows: MDF allows users to add instance-specific business logic and workflow logic to objects using an easy-to-use UI.
• Security: MDF integrates with Role-Based Permissions (RBP) to add security to objects and data.
• OData API Integration: MDF objects and data can be exposed through OData REST APIs, enabling integration with other systems.
