Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) IPT Lead

Location: Onsite in Louisville, CO
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) IPT Lead to drive the integration, verification, and delivery of advanced aerospace hardware systems. This individual will own the end-to-end integration process that transforms components and subsystems into fully tested, customer-ready hardware configurations.

The ideal candidate has a strong background leading complex, high-reliability hardware programs through assembly, system integration, environmental testing, anomaly resolution, and final delivery. This role requires both technical leadership and hands-on execution in a fast-paced development and production environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own subsystem and full system builds, spanning early prototypes through repeatable and scalable production hardware.
  • Serve as the hands-on AI&T lead, overseeing integration planning, build execution, readiness reviews, testing, anomaly resolution, and delivery coordination.
  • Establish and lead multidisciplinary integration and test teams including project, manufacturing, systems, quality, and test engineering personnel.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, scientific, and technical teams to define manufacturing methods, test procedures, validation approaches, and quality requirements.
  • Develop and manage AI&T plans, integration sequences, subsystem handoff criteria, facility requirements, and test readiness activities from planning through final delivery.
  • Coordinate daily execution across systems engineering, quality, procurement, program management, and subsystem teams.
  • Create and maintain integration procedures, test procedures, travelers, configuration records, verification reports, test data packages, and customer acceptance documentation.
  • Plan and execute functional, interface, environmental, optical, vacuum, electrical, and system-level verification testing.
  • Lead test readiness reviews, anomaly investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and recovery planning.
  • Ensure AI&T activities comply with safety requirements involving lasers, high voltage systems, vacuum environments, ESD controls, cleanliness standards, and facility constraints.
  • Drive facility, instrumentation, shipping, handling, and operational readiness efforts.
  • Monitor schedules, risks, resource requirements, open issues, and program performance impacts while providing status updates to leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting assembly, integration, testing, verification, production test, or systems testing of complex hardware systems.
  • Aerospace hardware experience is required, including integration, environmental testing, verification, and delivery of flight, flight-relevant, or other high-reliability systems.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams through hardware build, integration, checkout, anomaly resolution, and delivery.
  • Experience authoring or approving integration procedures, test procedures, travelers, verification reports, readiness review packages, and acceptance documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with environmental and system verification activities, including thermal vacuum testing, vibration testing, optical alignment, electrical functional testing, and interface verification.
  • Strong understanding of configuration management, quality systems, hardware handling procedures, safety requirements, and nonconformance processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly present program status, risks, blockers, and recovery plans to both technical and executive stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting fast-paced, schedule-driven programs where delivery timelines are critical.
  • Background working with complex hardware and integrated hardware/software/firmware systems requiring high reliability and performance.
  • Experience with optical systems, lasers, LIDAR, ultra-high vacuum (UHV) environments, high-voltage systems, embedded electronics, precision electromechanical assemblies, or advanced physics-based technologies.
  • Experience leading Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), environmental qualification campaigns, customer witness testing, and formal delivery activities.
  • Experience developing or managing Ground Support Equipment (GSE), Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE), Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE), or Optical Ground Support Equipment (OGSE).
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM), Control Account Management (CAM), Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), and cost/schedule performance reporting.

Ideal Background

Candidates with experience from organizations involved in aerospace, defense, space systems, advanced sensors, optics/photonics, flight hardware, satellites, launch systems, or other high-reliability engineering environments are strongly encouraged to apply.

Benefits:
  • 100% company-paid medical, dental, vision, short/long-term disability
  • Employer-funded Health Savings Account
  • Unlimited PTO
  • 401(k) match
  • Company-paid Life and AD&D Insurance
  • Flexible Savings Account
  • Paid FMLA, Maternity/Paternity Leave
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Student Loan Repayment
  • Equity Program
