Jira and Confluence Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Jersey City, NJ that is seeking a Jira and Confluence Engineer.

Summary:
We are seeking a Jira and Confluence Engineer to join the DevSecOps Collaboration and Enablement team, with accountability for the architecture, governance, and evolution of our Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence platforms. This role is both strategic and hands on, with end to end responsibility for operating and modernizing our Atlassian ecosystem, including the enterprise migration from Atlassian Data Center to Atlassian Cloud. You will function as the system owner for Jira and Confluence, setting standards, managing risk, and ensuring the platform scales securely and reliably across the organization.

The Jira and Confluence Engineer will partner closely with engineering, security, IAM, compliance, and business stakeholders to balance competing priorities while delivering high performance, compliant, and cost effective collaboration solutions. This role requires deep platform expertise, strong judgment, and the ability to translate enterprise needs into durable system design and governance.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
* Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) credentials (e.g., ACP-120 Jira Administrator for Cloud, ACP-520 Atlassian Cloud Organization Admin) preferred
* 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Jira and Confluence at the system level, clearly differentiated from Project/Space level administration preferred
* 5+ years of experience in a highly regulated environment (e.g., financial services, government, healthcare)
* Direct experience supporting and executing Jira and Confluence migrations from Data Center to Cloud preferred
* Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, business partners, and leadership
* Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, collaborate across teams, and execute initiatives to completion
* Strong attention to detail with experience improving platform configuration, usability, and operational processes
* Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC practices, and how Jira supports them at scale
* Strong analytical skills with experience producing meaningful reports and insights from Jira and Confluence data
* Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining REST APIs and system integrations involving Atlassian products
* Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI
* Ability to manage multiple concurrent requests while maintaining platform quality and standards
* Working knowledge of cloud native application architectures and patterns
* Interest in learning and adopting new tools and technologies to improve platform effectiveness
* Willingness to learn new technologies and contribute across delivery activities, including design, implementation, testing, CI/CD, and deployment support

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
