Role Overview
We are seeking an entry-level Engineer to support the design, construction, and maintenance of power generation and industrial facility projects. This role is responsible for applying engineering principles, design standards, and software tools to develop engineering designs, construction packages, and technical documentation. The ideal candidate will have experience interpreting and marking up mechanical drawings, working with Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and supporting projects in a power generation or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, design, and execution of engineering projects.
- Develop engineering designs, construction packages, and technical specifications.
- Support project estimating activities, including material takeoffs.
- Review and provide quality assurance oversight of contractor-developed engineering deliverables.
- Create and maintain mechanical drawings and P&IDs using CAD software.
- Conduct field walkdowns to verify existing conditions and document design changes.
- Apply engineering standards, design criteria, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with construction, maintenance, operations, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Support design standard development and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical support during construction and maintenance activities.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture in all work activities.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
Experience: 0-5 years of engineering experience in power generation, heavy industrial, manufacturing, or related environments. Must have previous experience with walking down and marking up mechanical prints.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with CAD software, including experience with doing CAD work for mechanical P&IDs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting power generation or industrial facility projects.
- Familiarity with engineering design standards and construction documentation.
- Knowledge of plant systems, equipment, and maintenance processes.
Additional Requirements
- Must be local to the project area or willing to relocate at personal expense.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments.
- Ability to safely access industrial facilities and construction sites as required.
