Job Description:
Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced technology leader to oversee enterprise cloud platforms, infrastructure services, and cloud operations. This individual will be responsible for managing a team of cloud professionals while providing strategic direction for the organization's cloud roadmap, with a particular focus on Microsoft Azure environments.

The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and operational excellence to ensure cloud solutions remain secure, resilient, cost-effective, and aligned with business objectives. This role will work closely with infrastructure, cybersecurity, application, and business teams to support modernization initiatives and drive continuous improvement across cloud services.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and performance management for a team of cloud engineers and technical specialists.
  • Establish team priorities, allocate resources, and ensure successful execution of operational and project-based work.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Develop and maintain operational standards, documentation, and best practices.
Azure Cloud Governance & Operations
  • Lead the administration, oversight, and strategic direction of enterprise cloud environments, with primary responsibility for Microsoft Azure services.
  • Develop governance models, operational procedures, and cloud standards that support scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Monitor service health, capacity, availability, and performance across cloud platforms.
  • Partner with infrastructure and security teams to ensure cloud solutions meet business and regulatory requirements.
Cloud Architecture & Modernization
  • Review and guide cloud solution designs to ensure alignment with architectural standards and long-term technology strategies.
  • Support cloud transformation initiatives, migrations, and modernization efforts.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend new capabilities that improve efficiency and business outcomes.
  • Promote adoption of automation, infrastructure-as-code, and operational best practices.
Financial & Resource Optimization
  • Manage cloud consumption and identify opportunities to optimize utilization and reduce unnecessary spend.
  • Establish reporting and metrics to measure cloud performance, availability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Support budget planning, forecasting, and vendor management activities associated with cloud services.
Security, Risk & Compliance
  • Ensure cloud environments adhere to organizational security policies and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to strengthen cloud security posture and remediation efforts.
  • Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and risk management initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory and data protection requirements.
Project Delivery
  • Lead cloud-related projects from planning through implementation and operational transition.
  • Coordinate activities across technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Track project milestones, risks, and dependencies to ensure successful outcomes.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and professional experience may be considered.
Experience
  • 10+ years of progressive IT infrastructure or cloud technology experience.
  • Prior experience leading cloud engineering, cloud operations, or infrastructure teams.
  • Experience supporting large, complex enterprise environments preferred.
  • Healthcare industry experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing Microsoft Azure cloud services and enterprise cloud operations.
Technical Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure services, cloud networking, identity management, monitoring, and governance.
  • Familiarity with additional cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud is advantageous.
  • Experience with automation, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud management tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud security frameworks, compliance practices, and operational excellence methodologies.
Leadership Competencies
  • Proven ability to develop high-performing technical teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Management Responsibility
  • Direct leadership responsibility for a team of approximately 10-15 technical professionals.
