Role: Linux Operations Engineer
Duration: 6 month contract to hire
Location: Jersey City, NJ (hybrid in office 3 days/2 remote)

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Operations Engineer with a strong focus on automation and pipeline-driven delivery. This role will play a critical part in building, deploying, and operating automation capabilities across a large-scale Linux environment while supporting our "cloud-first" transformation. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and Linux systems, and is comfortable serving as a key responder during major production incidents.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement automation solutions
- Build and enhance automation capabilities within the team, integrating them into enterprise-wide pipelines
- Leverage Ansible extensively for configuration management and automated deployments
- Actively contribute to architecture and framework design, ensuring alignment with established enterprise standards
- Serve as a key responder for major production incidents, including root cause analysis and remediation
- Support and maintain a large-scale Linux (Red Hat) environment
- Participate in and support the organization's cloud-first initiative
Technical Environment- Primarily Linux servers, Red Hat-based
- AWS represents ~25% of the environment, with steady growth planned
- Enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks
Required Skills & Experience- Strong expertise in Linux (Red Hat) system administration and automation
- Hands-on experience with Ansible architecture and usage
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline design and implementation
- Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting
- Experience designing or working within automation frameworks and architectural standards
