Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join their team onsite in Greenwood Village, CO. This role requires deep technical expertise across multiple domains and the ability to lead complex engineering initiatives. Candidates must be located in the Denver area. Relocation is not permitted.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert-level analysis of technical challenges and define effective solutions and implementation strategies
* Lead or contribute to system engineering projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards
* Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical growth and knowledge sharing
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software development, networking, and database teams
* Evaluate, recommend, and implement technologies aligned with business objectives
* Review system architecture and application deployment designs; recommend improvements
* Ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability of complex systems
* Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and new methodologies
* Drive infrastructure design enhancements to improve resilience and performance
* Partner with principal engineers on strategic initiatives and proposals
* Design and implement CI/CD and infrastructure pipelines
* Maintain strong understanding of service dependencies, configurations, and business functionality
* Implement and manage security controls, including access management and vulnerability mitigation
* Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices
* Participate in on-call rotations and support after-hours maintenance as required

REQUIREMENTS:
* Expert-level experience with AWS cloud services
* Strong expertise in Kubernetes and networking
* Advanced knowledge of databases including Aurora, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, and MongoDB
* Working knowledge of Lambda, SQS, SNS, and Kafka
* Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Splunk, and Kibana
* Strong proficiency in Linux systems and Python scripting
* Expertise with automation and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Bash, Shell, Perl, Ruby, traceroute, tcpdump, netstat, etc.)
* Advanced system administration experience across Linux, UNIX, and Windows environments
* Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation
* Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem tools such as Istio, Velero, Vault, ArgoCD, Flannel, Calico, and AWS Secrets Manager
* Ability to work independently while supporting and mentoring team members

Additional Requirements:
* Must be local to the Denver, CO area
* Must be able to work onsite in Greenwood Village
* Availability for on-call support and scheduled after-hours maintenance

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
