Desktop Support TechnicianPosition OverviewA skilled Desktop Support Technician is needed to provide on-site technical support for our client. This role involves installing, troubleshooting, and repairing devices in a Windows-based setting, along with occasional assistance on security cameras, servers, and network equipment. The position requires strong customer service skills, professionalism, and the ability to work in environments that may involve interaction with individuals performing supervised work duties.
Key Responsibilities- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair desktop hardware and software.
- Provide in-person technical support to staff and assist with device deployments.
- Support additional technology systems such as cameras, servers, and network switches when needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation within a ticketing system.
- Deliver high-quality customer service and communicate effectively with end users.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while staying organized and task-focused.
- Lift and carry equipment and work in physically demanding positions when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications- 1-2 years of experience in desktop support or a similar technical role.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Experience with device installation, configuration, and repair in a Windows environment.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in uncomfortable positions for extended periods.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work with limited supervision.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
Preferred Skills- Experience with imaging, deployments, and user account support.
- Familiarity with cloud-based environments and directory services.
- Exposure to ticketing systems and structured support workflows.
- Ability to support a variety of hardware including desktops, peripherals, and mobile devices.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Pewee Valley, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
