Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced UNIX Administrator / InterSystems Cache DBA to architect, build, administer, and support enterprise UNIX infrastructure and InterSystems Cache databases. The ideal candidate will have expertise in HP-UX or IBM AIX, InterSystems Cache (or IRIS), enterprise storage (SAN/NAS), disaster recovery, backup and recovery, and healthcare environments such as Epic. This role will work closely with infrastructure, network, and database teams to ensure high availability, security, and performance of mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise UNIX servers (HP-UX/IBM AIX).
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain InterSystems Cache databases.
• Perform Cache database backup, recovery, replication, and performance tuning.
• Manage enterprise storage including SAN, NAS, and Fiber Channel environments.
• Configure and troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and networking issues.
• Collaborate with network and infrastructure teams on security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and disaster recovery planning.
• Monitor system health, backups, storage, and database performance.
• Support technology refresh, server upgrades, and infrastructure modernization.
• Maintain CMDB, documentation, and operational procedures.
• Provide Tier 3/4 production support and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
• Participate in disaster recovery testing and business continuity planning.
• Work closely with Epic application teams and healthcare IT stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of UNIX Administration experience.
• Experience with HP-UX or IBM AIX.
• Experience administering InterSystems Cache (or InterSystems IRIS).
• Strong Database Administration (DBA) experience.
• Experience with SAN/NAS storage and Fiber Channel.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• Experience with backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting enterprise production environments.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

• Epic healthcare environment experience.
• Epic or InterSystems Certification.
• Healthcare IT experience.
• Experience with security, firewalls, IDS/IPS.
• Vendor management and infrastructure planning.
