Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer to design, develop, implement, and support enterprise ServiceNow applications and platform capabilities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ServiceNow App Engine Studio, custom application development, scripting, integrations, automation, and platform governance.

This role involves collaborating with product owners, technical teams, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions while providing technical leadership and mentoring junior developers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy ServiceNow applications and enhancements across multiple environments.

  • Develop custom applications using App Engine Studio, scoped applications, and ServiceNow platform APIs.

  • Build and maintain server-side scripts, including Script Includes, Business Rules, and Scripted REST APIs.

  • Configure and optimize GlideRecord queries, transactional logic, and platform performance.

  • Develop automated workflows using Flow Designer, reusable actions, subflows, and Integration Hub.

  • Design and configure Configurable Workspace and UI Builder experiences.

  • Implement REST API integrations and JSON-based data exchanges.

  • Develop and maintain ACLs, role-based access controls, and platform security standards.

  • Collaborate with product owners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Support platform upgrades, troubleshooting, production issues, and application enhancements.

  • Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with ServiceNow development standards.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release management.

  • Maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and operational runbooks.

  • Mentor developers and promote ServiceNow development best practices.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience in enterprise environments.

  • 3+ years of experience developing custom applications using ServiceNow App Engine Studio.

  • 3+ years of experience working in Agile or sprint-based development environments.

  • Strong expertise in JavaScript, Script Includes, Business Rules, and Scripted REST APIs.

  • Advanced knowledge of GlideRecord, query optimization, and transactional logic.

  • Hands-on experience with Flow Designer, subflows, reusable actions, and workflow automation.

  • Experience with Configurable Workspace, UI Builder, Client Scripts, and UI Policies.

  • Strong understanding of ACLs, role hierarchy, security controls, and platform governance.

  • Experience developing REST integrations and handling JSON-based data.

  • Familiarity with Platform Analytics, dashboards, indicators, and breakdowns.

  • Experience with application lifecycle management, platform upgrades, and performance optimization.

  • Strong troubleshooting, technical documentation, and communication skills.

  • Ability to independently manage technical deliverables and collaborate with cross-functional teams.


Preferred Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.


Certifications:

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).

  • ITIL 4 Foundation or equivalent ITSM experience.
