Position: Production Support Engineer
Locations: Reston, VA or Washington, DC (once a month onsite)
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Interview Process: 2 rounds (Phone Screen + In-Person Interview)
Shift: Night Shift – 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Position Overview
We are looking for a strong Production Support Engineer with hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and Web Services to support production applications and troubleshoot critical issues in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have strong Java development fundamentals along with experience supporting enterprise applications in production environments. Experience with Big Data platforms is a plus.
This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity with a night-shift assignment. The selected candidate will initially complete training and knowledge transfer during the day before transitioning to the regular night shift.

Key Responsibilities

Provide production support for enterprise applications and services.
Monitor production applications and identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues.
Analyze application errors, logs, and system behavior to determine root causes.
Support Java-based applications and troubleshoot issues across application components.
Work with Spring Boot applications and RESTful Web Services.
Investigate production incidents and provide timely resolutions.
Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and other technical teams to resolve production issues.
Perform incident analysis, root-cause analysis, and follow established production support procedures.
Participate in knowledge-transfer and application-support activities.
Document incidents, resolutions, and operational procedures.
Support scheduled weekend rotations, approximately once per month.

Required Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience with Java – MUST HAVE
Strong experience with Spring Boot – MUST HAVE
Strong experience with RESTful APIs / Web Services – MUST HAVE
Production support experience in an enterprise environment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience analyzing application logs and resolving production incidents.
Ability to work independently during overnight production support shifts.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
