UAT Tester

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a UAT Tester in Maryland Heights, MO.

Summary:
The UAT Tester is a hands-on testing professional responsible for validating user-facing functionality through rigorous manual testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). This role is highly execution-focused, operating in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment with aggressive timelines and multiple concurrent projects. The tester must be confident, self-directed, and comfortable presenting findings to senior leadership while ensuring the end-user experience meets business expectations.

Responsibilities:
* Execute manual testing and UAT activities across multiple concurrent projects
* Consume requirements written in user story format and create detailed, accurate test cases from those stories
* Create, execute, and maintain test cases using HP ALM
* Validate requirements by asking the right questions to ensure test coverage and clarity
* Focus testing efforts on the human/user experience rather than purely system or product functionality
* Document, track, and manage defects end-to-end, including writing clear defect descriptions and supporting evidence
* Present defects, test results, and demonstrations to stakeholders, including senior leadership, as needed
* Participate in defect triage sessions per project and support resolution efforts
* Meet or exceed daily test execution goals in alignment with testing cycle expectations
* Balance execution of the current testing cycle while preparing test cases and assets for upcoming cycles
* Collaborate closely with a tight-knit team and adapt quickly to shifting priorities and workload

REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong manual testing experience in a UAT-focused environment
* Hands-on experience with HP ALM
* Experience validating requirements and identifying gaps, risks, and edge cases
* Excellent written communication skills, including defect documentation reviewed by large stakeholder groups
* Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills, with confidence presenting on the fly
* Strong time management skills with the ability to manage heavy workloads and short timelines
* Self-starter who can operate with minimal guidance
* Team-oriented mindset with the flexibility to handle whatever work is needed
* Proven ability to create and execute test cases directly from requirements and user stories
* Ability to speak to defects, testing outcomes, and demos in meetings with senior leadership

Preferred Skills:
* Prior experience in a Business Analyst/Tester hybrid role
* Experience supporting highly visible, enterprise-scale initiatives
* Experience working across 10+ projects per month
* Comfort working in Agile-style environments where user stories drive testing (more modern Agile vs. traditional QA)
* Exposure to telecom, mobile, or customer-facing applications is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
