We are looking for an experienced Project Manager/Sr. Consultant to support complex engineering initiatives for a manufacturing organization in Texas. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who can guide technical execution, align cross-functional teams, and maintain strong oversight of requirements throughout the project lifecycle. The role combines systems engineering discipline with project leadership to help deliver high-quality solutions that meet scope, schedule, and performance expectations.
Responsibilities:
Lead technically complex software, hardware, and integration efforts, providing direction across multidisciplinary project teams.
Translate business and technical needs into clearly managed system requirements and maintain full traceability from definition through delivery.
Partner with stakeholders to capture operational needs, clarify expected system behavior, and document both stated and underlying project objectives.
Verify that proposed system and subsystem designs satisfy established requirements by contributing to reviews, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.
Build and maintain a strong working knowledge of the overall technical solution, including how each discipline contributes as the design evolves.
Prepare engineering execution plans for assigned work, including timelines, resource needs, and budget-related planning inputs.
Assess project risks and potential opportunities, then collaborate with project leadership to define practical mitigation and response strategies.
Track engineering performance related to cost, schedule, and quality, and present status updates with recommended corrective actions when needed.
Direct and coordinate team members across functions to support priority alignment, timely issue resolution, and delivery against milestones.
Support proposal and bid activities by contributing to compliance reviews, solution definition, estimating efforts, and technical documentation.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree with at least five years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least three years of relevant experience.
Minimum of five years of engineering experience spanning multiple phases of the system development life cycle.
At least five years of experience in technical project leadership, systems requirements management, or a closely related area.
