We are looking for a highly skilled IT Support Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Purview to support internal operations and client environments.
Role Overview
This is a hands-on, onsite role based in our Boston Seaport office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft identity, endpoint security, and compliance solutions.
You will work closely with leadership, security teams, and client stakeholders to maintain a secure and modern Microsoft 365 environment.
Key Responsibilities
Identity & Access Management (Microsoft Entra ID)
- Design and manage Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) tenant environments
- Configure and manage:
- Conditional Access Policies
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Privileged Identity Management (PIM)

- Implement Single Sign-On (SSO) and federation
- Manage hybrid identity environments (Entra Connect / AD Sync)
- Troubleshoot authentication and access issues
Endpoint & Security (Microsoft Defender)
- Deploy and manage:
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
- Defender for Office 365
- Defender for Identity
- Defender for Cloud Apps

- Configure security baselines and policies
- Monitor alerts and respond to incidents
- Implement endpoint hardening and threat remediation
- Work with vulnerability management workflows
Compliance & Data Governance (Microsoft Purview)
- Configure:
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies
- Information Protection & Sensitivity Labels
- Insider Risk Management
- eDiscovery (Standard & Premium)

- Support regulatory compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOX, GDPR, etc.)
- Manage retention policies and data lifecycle controls
IT Operations & Support
- Provide L2/L3 support for Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
- Support device onboarding (Intune/MDM)
- Maintain documentation and architecture diagrams
- Assist in internal IT projects and customer deployments
- Provide executive-level user support when required
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of IT Support / Systems Engineering experience
- 3+ years of hands-on Microsoft Security & Identity experience
- Strong expertise in:
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Microsoft Defender suite
- Microsoft Purview

- Experience with:
- Azure AD Connect / Hybrid identity
- Intune & Endpoint Management
- PowerShell scripting

- Deep understanding of Zero Trust architecture
- Experience supporting 100 1000+ endpoint environments
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certifications such as:
- SC-300 (Identity and Access Administrator)
- SC-200 (Security Operations Analyst)
- SC-400 (Information Protection Administrator)
- AZ-104 / AZ-500

- Experience in consulting or MSP environments
- Exposure to compliance audits
- Knowledge of Freshservice / ServiceNow ticketing systems
