Senior Windows System Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Windows Infrastructure & Performance Engineer to lead performance tuning, optimization, and reliability initiatives across enterprise Windows environments. This role requires deep expertise in Windows internals, Active Directory, and system-level troubleshooting, along with experience supporting hybrid cloud infrastructure.

You will play a critical role in ensuring system scalability, performance, and availability while serving as a senior escalation point for complex production issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead performance tuning across Windows Server environments (CPU, memory, disk I/O, network)
• Diagnose and resolve complex performance bottlenecks using advanced troubleshooting techniques
• Design and support highly available and scalable Windows infrastructure solutions
• Manage and optimize Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), including domain controllers, replication, and authentication flows
• Act as a senior escalation point for production incidents and drive rapid resolution
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures
• Optimize Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy for performance and scalability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (application, database, cloud) for end-to-end optimization
• Support hybrid cloud environments (Azure/AWS), including migration and performance tuning
• Automate tasks using PowerShell and scripting tools
• Maintain monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning strategies
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks

Technical Skills:

• Deep understanding of Windows internals (processes, threads, memory management)
• Hands-on experience with performance tools (PerfMon, Resource Monitor, Sysinternals)
• Advanced knowledge of Active Directory:
  • Domain controllers, replication, FSMO roles
  • Kerberos and LDAP authentication
• Experience with:
  • AD replication troubleshooting and latency resolution
  • AD site topology design and optimization
  • Authentication performance tuning
  • AD backup, recovery, and disaster recovery
• Strong knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
• Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation
• Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, latency, throughput, load balancing)
• Experience with monitoring tools (Dynatrace, SolarWinds, SCOM)
• Proven ability to troubleshoot across compute, storage, and network layers
