Position: Business Systems Analyst, Billing & Payments
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst with expert-level Zuora Billing knowledge and a strong functional background in subscription commerce and payments. This role requires the ability to operate independently leading requirements, driving delivery, and managing complex Finance and Revenue Operations stakeholders without escalation.
The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on Zuora expertise and the business acumen to own outcomes end-to-end across the billing and payments ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Zuora Billing & Platform Expertise
Serve as subject matter expert for Zuora Billing configurations, product catalog, billing rules, and operational workflows
Lead functional design of billing models including subscriptions, amendments, renewals, cancellations, and usagebased billing
Own end-to-end troubleshooting and resolution of billing issues from root cause identification through fix implementation
Ensure billing operations meet accuracy, compliance, and scalability requirements
Translate pricing strategies, product packaging, and promotional models into Zuora-compatible configurations
Partner with Sales Operations to align Zuora CPQ with billing system requirements
Ensure quote-to-cash flows are accurate, scalable, and well-documented
Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements
Act as a functional partner for Finance, Revenue Operations, and Accounting stakeholders
Lead requirements gathering, gap analysis, and functional specification development independently
Build and maintain trusted relationships with complex stakeholder groups
Facilitate working sessions and drive decisions
Independent Delivery
Drive billing and payments initiatives from requirements through QA, UAT and production
Manage functional backlog of billing system enhancements based on business impact
Coordinate with Engineering, QA, and integration partners to ensure delivery quality
Serve as the escalation point for billing and payments operational issues
Integration & Data
Support integrations between Zuora, Salesforce, NetSuite, and payment platforms
Use SQL and Zuora Data Query to analyze data, validate configurations, and support reporting
Document data flows and integration behaviors for operational and audit purposes
Documentation
Maintain functional specifications, process documentation, and operational runbooks
Ensure knowledge is documented and transferable
Qualifications and Skills
Required Skills
5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in a SaaS billing environment
Expert-level hands-on experience with Zuora Billing configurations, workflows, billing rules, and product catalog
Proven ability to work independently with Finance and Revenue Operations stakeholders driving requirements, building trust, and reaching decisions
Experience integrating Zuora with Salesforce and ERP systems (NetSuite or equivalent)
Proficiency in SQL and Zuora Data Query for data analysis and troubleshooting
Strong communication skills able to translate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders and vice versa Technical Competencies

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Zuora CPQ and pricing model implementation
Experience with Zuora Revenue (RevPro)
Experience with payment platforms (Cybersource, Adyen, Stripe, or equivalent)
Knowledge of SOX and PCI compliance in billing contexts
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies
Experience in multi-entity or global billing environments
Exposure to usage-based, tiered, and hybrid subscription billing models
