Microsoft Power BI Developer

Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field,

Certifications: Microsoft certifications (e.g., Power Platform Developer, Solution Architect)

Required Experience:

1.      Experience developing solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform,

2.      Experience with Power Apps

3.      Experience with Power Automate

4.      Experience with on-Prem and Cloud RDBMS

5.      Experience with Dataverse

6.      Experience with Power BI

7.      Experience with Application lifecycle management (ALM)

8.      Experience with Environment strategy with Deployment and Troubleshooting (Dev/Test/Prod)

9.      Experience with Security and role-based access control

10.  Experience with SQL Queries

11.  Experience gathering requirements and translating them into technical designs

12.  Ability to work independently and across multiple projects in a shared-services environment

Preferred Experience:

1.       Experience with Copilot Studio or other conversational AI platforms

2.      Experience in government, public sector, or regulated environments

3.       Experience with MS SQL Server

4.       Experience with Dynamics 365

5.       Experience with azure services (Logic Apps, Functions, API Management, etc.)

6.       Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for Power Platform

Responsibilities:

Application Development & Solution Design:

1.    Design, build, and maintain Power Platform solutions including:

 Canvas and Model-driven Power Apps

 Power Pages

 Power Automate cloud flows and approvals

 on-Prem and Cloud RDBMS and Dataverse data models, business rules, and security roles

 Power BI reports and dashboards

2.    Translate business and program requirements into scalable technical solutions.

3.    Develop reusable components, patterns, and templates aligned with OTS standards

4.    Knowledge transfer and train our in-house developers to come up to speed

Integration & Architecture

1.    Integrate Power Platform solutions with:

 Microsoft 365 services

 Dynamics 365 (where applicable)

 Azure services and external systems via connectors and APIs

 Apply best practices for performance, scalability, and maintainability

Governance, Security & Compliance

1.    Implement role-based security, data loss prevention (DLP) policies, and environmental strategies

2.    Ensure solutions comply with Louisiana OTS standards and applicable federal and state regulations (e.g., security, privacy, accessibility)

3.    Support audits, documentation, and technical reviews

Collaboration & Leadership

1.    Work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, architects, and other developers

2.    Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and citizen developers

3.    Participate in solution reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions

Innovation & Emerging Capabilities

1.    Evaluate and pilot new Power Platform features and capabilities

2.    Copilot Studio experience (plus):

 Assist in designing conversational AI solutions and virtual agents

 Support use cases such as knowledge retrieval, case intake, and internal

support automation
