Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior IT Business Systems Analyst with expertise in Jira administration. The primary purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive support, administration, and transformation of the existing Jira system. This position will be instrumental in enhancing the application from a ticketing system to an effective, company-wide tool for project management and tracking. The ideal candidate will be a self-sufficient, proactive individual who can champion the application, drive meetings to understand requirements, and communicate effectively with various teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and related Atlassian tools, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with functional teams to understand workflow requirements and customize Jira projects, workflows, permissions, and schemes.
- Manage user access, roles, and permissions to ensure security and compliance with company policies.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and user guides.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on Jira best practices.
- Monitor system performance and perform routine maintenance.
- Assist in integrating Jira with other enterprise systems and third-party applications.
- Participate in the design and implementation of automation, reporting, and dashboards.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, company assets, and data security.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience of three or more years in Jira administration or related IT roles may be considered as a substitute.
Experience: A minimum of three years of experience with advanced Jira administration is required, including complex workflow design and system integrations. The candidate must demonstrate a strong understanding of Jira project configurations, workflows, permissions, and schemes.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and database querying for reporting and troubleshooting is necessary. The role also requires general IT knowledge and the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical users.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Jira Service Management and Confluence administration.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Groovy or Python.
- Knowledge of Jira REST APIs and integration with third-party tools.
- Experience in Agile environments and with ITIL processes.
- Experience with Power BI or other reporting tools.
- Midstream industry experience is considered a significant advantage.
- An Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator certification.
Work Environment
This position follows a hybrid work model. The work schedule requires on-site presence Monday through Wednesday, with the option for remote work on Thursday and Friday. Availability to respond to after-hours support requests is necessary.
Compensation and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00/hr - $73.00/hr.
