Location: Chicago

We are seeking a skilled Plant Vehicle Team Engineer (PVT Engineer) for a temporary, fully onsite role supporting vehicle production at a major automotive assembly plant. This is a high-impact position focused on vehicle electrical systems, quality engineering, and root cause analysis for advanced vehicle platforms.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Serve as the first line of defense for vehicle quality issues related to electrical systems

  • Lead root cause analysis across design, supplier, and manufacturing concerns

  • Support warranty claim triage, prioritization, and containment actions

  • Analyze low-voltage wiring systems, DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes), and electrical distribution systems

  • Coordinate engineering changes, plant trials, and production readiness activities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve design and quality issues

  • Review pre-production builds and identify potential risks or campaign items

  • Utilize quality systems and data to drive continuous improvement initiatives


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical or related field preferred)

  • Experience in systems engineering, quality improvement, and root cause analysis

  • Background in vehicle electrical systems or wiring (low voltage EDS preferred)

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

  • Ability to work onsite and collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams
