Contract - Los Angeles, CA

Join a team supporting one of the largest and most complex enterprise network transformations in the country. This contract opportunity is ideal for a Senior L4 Network Engineer / Architect with deep expertise in Cisco SD-WAN, enterprise WAN architecture, MPLS, and routing. You'll lead the design and implementation of resilient SD-WAN solutions that span MPLS, Internet, broadband, LTE/5G, and hybrid WAN environments while working with cutting-edge Cisco networking technologies.

This is more than an implementation role-it's an opportunity to serve as the technical authority for Cisco SD-WAN architecture. You'll drive design decisions, mentor engineering teams, collaborate with carriers and stakeholders, and help shape the future of a large-scale enterprise network. If you enjoy solving complex networking challenges, leading high-impact projects, and working across both the logical and physical layers of modern networking, this role offers the chance to make a significant impact while working alongside senior engineering talent.

  • Experience designing enterprise WAN solutions across MPLS, Internet, broadband, LTE/5G, and hybrid WAN environments
  • Advanced routing expertise with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EIGRP, VRFs, route redistribution, and policy-based routing
  • Working knowledge of MPLS services including L3VPN, L2VPN, QoS, and carrier handoff models
  • Experience with Cisco Catalyst 8000/8500, ISR, ASR, or similar WAN edge platforms
  • Strong understanding of WAN/LAN integration, fiber handoffs, carrier demarcation, and firewall connectivity
  • Experience troubleshooting across routing, SD-WAN overlays, QoS, physical connectivity, and application performance
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and technical leadership skills
Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Cisco SD-WAN segmentation, application-aware routing, and large-scale deployments
  • Experience integrating SD-WAN with cloud, data centers, SASE, and enterprise security platforms
  • Experience with DWDM, dark fiber, carrier Ethernet, and optical transport
  • Experience with ThousandEyes, SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, NetFlow, or similar monitoring platforms
  • Experience with Ansible, Python, REST APIs, Git, or Infrastructure as Code
  • Experience supporting mission-critical production environments
  • Experience working directly with carriers, vendors, and field engineering teams
What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown

  • 75% Hands-On Engineering
  • 10% Technical Leadership & Design Reviews
  • 15% Team Collaboration

You'll lead the design, deployment, and operational support of Cisco SD-WAN solutions across complex enterprise environments. Responsibilities include defining SD-WAN overlays, developing routing and segmentation strategies, integrating WAN edge devices with LAN, firewall, cloud, and data center environments, supporting high-risk migrations and cutovers, troubleshooting production issues, collaborating with carriers and cross-functional engineering teams, producing high-quality technical documentation, and serving as the senior escalation point for complex networking challenges. You'll also establish design standards, mentor engineering teams, and ensure network solutions are resilient, scalable, and aligned with business and operational requirements.
