Location: Hybrid opportunities available in Vienna, VA; Winchester, VA; and Pensacola, FL. Fully remote candidates located within the United States will also be considered.

Duration: 5 Months
Role Overview:We are seeking an experienced Technical Risk Analyst to support cybersecurity governance and operational risk issue management. This contract role focuses on identifying, tracking, remediating, and validating information security issues while ensuring alignment with enterprise risk frameworks and regulatory expectations. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable partnering across technical and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Support day-to-day operational risk issue management activities
- Partner with IT and business stakeholders to identify and document information security issues
- Facilitate issue intake, tracking, remediation, and closure efforts
- Perform comprehensive gap and root-cause analyses for process and compliance gaps
- Assist in developing corrective action plans that address root causes
- Review evidence packages to validate successful remediation (prior audit experience a plus)
- Collaborate with risk, control testing, and RCSA teams to ensure alignment
- Lead and participate in meetings to gather required information and drive issue resolution
- Produce issue and event tracking metrics and reporting
- Help business units understand issue management expectations and best practices
- Stay current on information security trends, regulatory guidance, and industry standards
Qualifications:- Level 2 contractor experience required
- Proven experience in risk management, issue management, RCSA, and GRC tools
- Strong understanding of the Three Lines of Defense model
- Ability to clearly articulate the difference between risk, issue, and event
- Experience in financial services or credit union environments preferred
- Familiarity with regulatory and security frameworks such as NCUA, FFIEC, GLBA, and NIST (CSF and 800 series)
- Experience with GRC platforms (LogicManager strongly preferred)
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including technical writing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word; strong general office software skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or related field
- (or equivalent professional or military experience)
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; no sponsorship available
Compensation and Benefits:The pay rate for this position is between $45.00 and $55.00 per hour. Please note that the final rate may be contingent on experience and other factors.
