Description

We are looking for a Network Engineer to support secure, resilient connectivity across multifamily and commercial properties in Atlanta, Georgia. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing network operations, wireless performance, and security in distributed environments. The role focuses on strengthening infrastructure reliability, protecting network assets, and partnering with teams to deliver consistent service across on-site and hybrid-connected environments.

Responsibilities:

Manage and optimize network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems to ensure dependable daily operations.

Diagnose connectivity and performance issues across wired and wireless environments, resolving problems efficiently to minimize service disruption.

Strengthen security controls by administering firewall policies, remote access protections, and network defense technologies across distributed sites.

Monitor network health and security events using diagnostic and observability platforms, then investigate anomalies and escalate or remediate incidents as needed.

Support the design, deployment, and tuning of wireless networks for high-density residential and commercial settings.

Maintain Layer network services such as VLAN segmentation, routing, and IP-based connectivity to support stable and scalable operations.

Contribute to compliance reviews, security assessments, and the adoption of networking and cybersecurity best practices.

Work with cabling, fiber, and PoE-supported infrastructure while coordinating with internal partners to improve overall network performance and security posture.

Provide occasional on-site support at local or regional locations for implementation, troubleshooting, and infrastructure maintenance.

Requirements

Hands-on experience supporting enterprise or distributed network environments with strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and switching concepts.
Practical expertise with network hardware and security platforms such as Cisco routers, Cisco networking equipment, Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco ASA, Juniper, MikroTik, Ubiquiti, or Fortinet.
Experience working with firewall administration, secure remote connectivity, and other core network security technologies.
Understanding of wireless networking principles and RF performance considerations in dense user environments.
Ability to use network monitoring, packet analysis, and troubleshooting tools to identify and resolve technical issues.
Familiarity with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and other routing technologies in complex network environments.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Willingness to travel locally or regionally as needed to support sites and project work.
