Description

We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to strengthen application security practices across the software development lifecycle in Atlanta, Georgia. This candidate will work closely with development and technical teams to reduce risk, improve code security, and support proactive threat awareness. The role is ideal for someone who combines hands-on security expertise with a collaborative, advisory approach in a fast-paced enterprise setting.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate applications and development processes to uncover security gaps and recommend practical remediation steps.

Integrate and maintain security tooling that supports code analysis, vulnerability detection, and risk visibility throughout delivery workflows.

Partner with software engineers to address weaknesses early in the build cycle and promote secure development standards.

Track emerging threats, analyze potential impact to systems and applications, and help prioritize defensive actions.

Provide guidance on secure coding techniques and influence engineering teams to adopt stronger security controls.

Work across CI/CD environments to embed security checks into deployment pipelines and improve release readiness.

Collaborate with stakeholders in technical and business teams to communicate findings, risks, and mitigation plans clearly

Requirements

Experience in cyber security engineering with a focus on application and software security.
Working knowledge of common application security risks, including OWASP Top 10 concepts and mitigation methods.
Hands-on familiarity with security platforms and tools used for application testing, monitoring, or vulnerability management.
Understanding of secure software development practices and how to apply them within modern engineering teams.
Experience supporting or securing CI/CD pipelines in a development environment.
Background with firewall technologies such as Check Point or Cisco ASA, including configuration-related security concepts.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders using a consultative and solutions-oriented approach.
