DESCRIPTION:
Job Summary:
The Citrix VDI Administrator is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the Department’s virtual desktop and application delivery environment. This role focuses on Citrix infrastructure management, performance analysis, reporting integration, and continuous improvement of virtualization services to ensure reliability, security, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
· Integrate Citrix utilization and performance reports with the Department’s enterprise reporting and analytics platforms to support data-driven decision-making.
· Administer, maintain, and optimize the Department’s Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and application delivery systems, including patch management, performance tuning, and regression testing.
· Assess the Citrix VDI environment to identify gaps in efficiency, system performance, configuration, and security posture.
· Analyze identified issues and provide detailed documentation outlining problem descriptions, technical and operational impacts, recommended corrective actions, and remediation plans.
· Collaborate with internal teams to develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for administering and maintaining the Citrix platform.
· Provide technical support and configuration assistance to internal users and stakeholders utilizing Citrix VDI services.
· Evaluate alternative virtual desktop technologies to determine compatibility, performance benchmarks, and functional alignment with organizational needs.
· Document and report all system changes, enhancements, implementations, and updates related to the Citrix environment in accordance with Department standards.
Required Qualifications:
· A minimum of five years with Windows Operating System deployment.
· A minimum of three years working with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.
· A minimum of two years with cloud computing technologies.
· A minimum of five years with software packaging and release management methodologies.
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· Proven experience administering Citrix environments (e.g., Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops).
· Strong understanding of VDI architecture, virtualization technologies, and application delivery.
· Experience with system performance monitoring, patching, and optimization.
· Knowledge of security best practices in virtualized environments.
· Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide actionable solutions.
· Strong documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Citrix certifications (e.g., CCA-V, CCP-V).
· Experience with cloud-based virtualization platforms (e.g., Azure Virtual Desktop, AWS WorkSpaces).
· Familiarity with enterprise reporting tools and analytics integration.
· Scripting experience (PowerShell or similar) for automation.
