Job Title: Project Manager - Utilities Domain

Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong Utilities domain expertise to lead and deliver complex IT and business transformation initiatives across electric, gas, or water utilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams, driving digital transformation, and delivering projects involving systems such as CIS, billing, smart metering, and grid operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project delivery across utility programs including AMI, OMS, CIS, Billing, and Grid Modernization.
• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria aligned with business objectives.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, risks, and resources effectively.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
• Drive Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models depending on project needs.
• Ensure compliance with utility regulations and standards (e.g., NERC, FERC).
• Oversee data migration, system integration, and testing activities.
• Facilitate governance meetings, status reporting, and executive communication.
• Identify and mitigate risks/issues proactively.
• Support change management and user adoption strategies.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
• 8+ years of project management experience with at least 3-5 years in Utilities domain.
• Strong experience in utility systems such as:
  • Customer Information Systems (CIS)
  • Outage Management Systems (OMS)
  • Meter Data Management (MDM)
  • SCADA / Grid systems
• Experience managing large-scale transformation programs ($1M+ budgets preferred).
• Strong knowledge of SDLC and project delivery frameworks.
• Proficiency in tools like MS Project, Jira, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP certification (from Project Management Institute) or equivalent.
• Experience with utility platforms such as:
  • SAP IS-U
  • Oracle Utilities
• Knowledge of Smart Grid, DER, and renewable energy integration.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
