Summary

Overview

DecisionPoint seeks a Knowledge Management Support Tool (KMST) Technician to provide onsite operational and technical support for a custom enterprise knowledge management platform supporting mission operations across multiple directorates.

The KMST Technician ensures system availability, data integrity, and user accessibility by performing day-to-day administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This role supports collaborative information sharing, document control, and data governance across a secure IT enterprise.

This position is onsite in Huntsville, Alabama and requires an active Secret clearance.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Administer, operate, and maintain a home-grown Knowledge Management Support Tool (KMST) used for enterprise collaboration and information management.
  • Perform daily monitoring, user account management, access control configuration, and system troubleshooting.
  • Maintain data accuracy and ensure all content aligns with established metadata, taxonomy, and security standards.
  • Support periodic software updates, security patching, and configuration changes through formal change control processes.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to verify system performance and availability metrics.
  • Document standard operating procedures, configuration settings, and version history for continuity and audit readiness.
  • Provide user support, training, and assistance for KMST features and functions.
  • Participate in testing and validation of new system features, ensuring stability and functionality prior to production release.
  • Monitor audit logs and support data recovery, security reviews, and compliance inspections.
Qualifications

Clearance Requirement:

  • Active Secret clearance required.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Knowledge Management, or a related technical field.

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting enterprise knowledge management or collaboration platforms.
  • Experience with user administration, configuration management, and system troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain data accuracy and operational reliability in secure, large-scale environments.
  • Desired: Experience in space and missile defense or other mission-critical operational environments.
  • Desired: Experience supporting custom-built or home-grown information systems and database-driven applications.


Certifications (Preferred):

  • CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent.
  • ITIL Foundations or similar IT service management certification.


Skills:

  • Strong technical troubleshooting and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in user administration, configuration management, and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of database fundamentals and web application architecture.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
