API Product Owner

Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner API Integrations to lead the delivery and lifecycle management of complex API initiatives. This role plays a critical part in connecting business strategy with technical execution by ensuring APIs are secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals. You will work closely with product owners, engineering teams, and third party partners to deliver high quality integrations that support both front end and back end systems.

In this position, you will own API delivery from concept through deployment, manage third party onboarding, and ensure performance, availability, and security standards are consistently met. You will translate business needs into clear user stories and backlog priorities while serving as a trusted liaison between stakeholders and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary point of contact for API delivery initiatives, partnering with business product owners to prioritize and manage work
• Manage complex third party API integrations, including vendor onboarding, security considerations, and troubleshooting integration issues
• Own the full API lifecycle from design through deployment, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability
• Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and EPICs to ensure alignment and traceability of requirements
• Monitor and manage API SLAs with internal teams and external vendors to ensure high availability and performance
• Drive API security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies
• Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure expectations, timelines, and objectives are aligned
• Build and track metrics to measure product performance and integration success

Key Requirements
• 6 or more years of experience as a Product Owner and Scrum Master with a strong focus on API projects and integrations
• Deep understanding of API concepts including RESTful APIs, versioning, authentication, security protocols, rate limiting, and optimization
• Hands on experience with Azure API Management or similar API platforms and familiarity with the broader Azure ecosystem
• Proven experience working with third party systems, managing vendor onboarding, and supporting secure integrations
• Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle for API integrations, including troubleshooting and optimization
• Experience leading agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog grooming, and EPIC refinement
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present to stakeholders, take ownership, and proactively identify areas for improvement
