Job Description:
Position Title: Network Administrator
Location: Charlotte, NC
Duration: 12-month W-2 Contract
Job Profile Summary
Configure, install, maintain and troubleshoot complex local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) systems including multi-layer switching, routing, and wireless in an enterprise environment. Position includes configuration and support of OSPF and BGP routing implementations, Quality of Service, Access Control Lists, wireless LAN controller implementation, and wireless survey tools. Configure and maintain IP Address Management Platform.
Major Responsibilities
Maintain technical performance of network systems across enterprise facilities.
Monitor system performance and ensure optimal utilization of network resources.
Support networking systems, coordinating with IS departments and vendors.
Implement routine risk network changes and designed network solutions.
Work independently and in teams to execute network system project plans.
Follow customer protocols, resolve help desk tickets, and manage issues.
Install physical and logical network components.
Assist in defining network infrastructure requirements for less complex projects.
Support process improvement initiatives and documentation.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher within first year of hiring.
Education Required
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Computer Science or related field.
Experience Required
At least 3 years of experience installing and supporting sophisticated information systems, preferably in a health care environment utilizing client/server technologies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
Ability to handle customer interactions and problem resolution effectively.
Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work independently with strong judgment and creativity.
Knowledge of network, routing, wireless protocols, and broadband.
Skills in client/server, general networking, IPAM/DNS/DHCP, and hardware (routers, switches).
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Availability for callback support; may require evenings and weekends.
Must have dependable transportation.
Ability to sit for up to 80% of the workday.
Ability to type for more than 50% of the workday and perform fine hand manipulation.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and perform twisting, bending, kneeling.
Ability to perform work-related travel.
Preferred Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Certifications: Cisco Certifications preferred.
