Position Overview:

RTX has an opening for an experienced Infrastructure manager that will serve the Digital Team supporting Raytheon Technologies Research Center (RTRC) located in East Hartford, CT.

The RTRC Infrastructure manager, will manage all aspects of the DT infrastructure at RTRC. This management will include oversight of third-party sysadmins, hardware obsolescence planning, software installation and patching. In addition, this role will work cooperatively with the Sr Manger of RTRC Linux/HPC and the on-premises HPC infrastructure needs. This person must also be willing to get hands-on as needed. The candidate will report to the Sr Manager of Digital Technology, RTRC.

The candidate should be self-motivated, have a strong background and expert understanding of Enterprise IT Infrastructure. You must be able to work effectively in project-team environment with minimum supervision, focused on innovation and have strong verbal and written communication skills.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for all aspects of DT Infrastructure at RTRC - planning, deployment, support;
  • Interface with RTX Corporate Infrastructure teams and coordinate Corporate driven projects;
  • Support RTX/RTRC specific infrastructure: servers, networks, storage, data center, end user devices, foundational middleware and applications;
  • Provide infrastructure support for projects that must comply with DFARS/NIST 800-171, US Govt regulations;
  • Provide Infrastructure support for research projects involving non-standard computers, networks, peripherals, software and access;
  • Develop and support external cloud infrastructure that integrates with RTX on premise capability.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in Enterprise IT infrastructure;
  • Experience with Windows Server Operating systems, platforms (servers, clusters), computer hardware, server architecture (physical and virtual), storage systems, networks (WAN, LAN, WLAN, firewalls);
  • Experience with foundational middleware and applications such as Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, web access, security suites and collaboration technologies;
  • Experience with Azure, AWS or equivalent cloud platforms;
  • Proven track record of engaging and collaborating with 3rd party vendors

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Knowledge of RTX DT policies, standards and procedures;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results and work in a time-sensitive, high pressure environment
  • Experience with managing sensitive, confidential or private information
  • Knowledge of IT security and applications;'
  • Azure and/or AWS certification
  • Experience deploying solutions compliant with DFARS/NIST 800-171, US Govt regulations;
  • US government security clearance at the Secret level or higher;
  • Knowledge of ITC (International Trade Compliance) rules, regulations and procedures;

Work Location

This is a hybrid role, Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
