Job Description

We are seeking an OnBase Developer with strong experience in designing, developing, and configuring Hyland OnBase ECM solutions, specifically supporting Life Insurance Claims Processing workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and configure Hyland OnBase ECM solutions for life insurance claims processing
• Build and enhance OnBase Workflow and Case Management for:
  • Claims intake
  • Validation
  • Adjudication
  • Approvals
  • Payout processing
• Configure document types, keywords, folders, lifecycle rules, security, and retention policies aligned with insurance and regulatory requirements
• Implement digital claims folders to provide a unified view of documents, metadata, and workflow status
• Support claims use cases including:
  • Death claims
  • Maturity and surrender claims
  • Beneficiary communications
  • Regulatory correspondence
• Integrate OnBase with:
  • Core insurance platforms
  • Policy administration systems
  • Payment systems
• Configure document ingestion from multiple channels (scan, email, portals, APIs)
• Perform unit testing, system testing, and UAT support; resolve defects in workflows and document management systems
• Provide production support, troubleshoot workflow/integration/performance issues, and support releases and upgrades
• Collaborate with business users, BAs, QA, and integration teams to translate requirements into OnBase solutions
• Create and maintain technical documentation for workflows, configurations, and integrations

Required Skills

OnBase ECM Expertise

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Hyland OnBase
• Strong experience in:
  • Workflow design
  • Case Management
  • Document Management
• Experience with:
  • Unity Client
  • WorkView
  • Application Enabler
  • OnBase APIs

Domain & Functional Experience

• Proven experience in Life Insurance Claims Processing
• Understanding of insurance core systems and enterprise integrations
• Knowledge of claims lifecycle and document-heavy workflows

Technical Skills

• Metadata-driven document retrieval and workflow rules
• Exception handling in workflow systems
• OnBase security and records management
• Retention and compliance policies

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and documentation abilities
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery models
• Ability to work with business and technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Exposure to insurance modernization programs
