Summary

POSITION OVERVIEW

Plan, schedule and implement the daily mine surveying activities at Mission Complex.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Export designs from Mine planning software into Trimble Geomatics Office and Trimble Business Center into Trimble Data Collector for field work.
  • Perform daily blast hole sampling.
  • Assist in uploading pattern designs into the high precision drill systems.
  • Surveys and establishes controls in and out of the pit.
  • Create shot maps in mine planning software and assist in delineating ore/waste splits and staking controls in field.
  • Establish elevation control at mining faces, haulage roads, and dump locations.
  • Assist in layout waste dumps limits, haul roads, designs and maintain accurate progress maps.
  • Assist Redline Engineer with Monthly Close Surveys.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of practices and procedures in the Engineering Department.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Strong interpersonal skills in developing consensus building.
  • Must have excellent computer skills with MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook and AutoCAD.
  • Working knowledge of Trimble-GPS equipment and software.
  • Working knowledge of Auto Level surveying equipment, techniques, and software.
  • Must be able to manage time effectively and set priorities.
  • Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Must havevaliddriver's license.
  • Must be able to deal with high stress and the elements.
  • Must be able to perform fieldwork, lift 50lbs, and walk over rough terrain, sit, stand, bend, climb stairs/ladders.
  • Must be willing to work after scheduledshift.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • One (1) year of college or Technical School in a related field (preferred).
  • One (1) year survey experience in mining or construction environment (preferred)
  • English language fluency.
  • At least CEFR B2 - Upper Intermediate: Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization.
