Job Description

This full-time summer internship includes a minimum 10-week assignment and offers a competitive monthly salary. Interns may also be eligible for company-provided housing or a housing stipend based on individual needs. At Arconic, interns are valued contributors who work on meaningful projects, collaborate with leaders across the business, and gain practical experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Each intern is paired with both a manager and mentor to support their professional growth throughout the program. The Data Governance Intern will support strategic initiatives focused on improving data quality, governance, and business planning processes across the organization. Working closely with functional data owners and business stakeholders, you will help establish data governance standards, monitor data quality, identify and resolve data defects, and improve the accuracy of critical business planning systems. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data governance, analytics, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration while contributing to initiatives that support supply, demand, and financial planning optimization.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:
  • Support the development and implementation of a data governance process and standards for key, prioritized supply chain data fields.
  • Document data definitions, ownership models, and governance procedures.
  • Analyze data trends and root causes of data quality issues for the targeted data fields/information
  • Partner with functional data owners to improve the quality, consistency, and reliability of that information.
  • Develop and build data quality dashboards, metrics, and reporting tools to monitor data quality health and progress.
  • Present project findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership at the conclusion of the internship.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Expected graduation date between August 2027 and May 2028.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Authorizations from the relevant government agency may be required to meet export control compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous internship, co-op, research, or work experience in data analytics, reporting, or process improvement.
  • Experience with Excel, Power BI, Anaplan, or similar analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of data governance, master data, and data quality principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Initiative, curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Participation in extracurricular, leadership, or community activities.
  • Interest in supply chain planning, business analytics, and digital transformation.

About the Team

Davenport Works is the country's largest aluminum rolling mill, it was opened in 1948 and currently employs more than 2,000 people and ships product worldwide. It is in Riverdale in the Quad Cities (Davenport and Bettendorf in southeastern Iowa, and Rock Island and Moline in northwestern Illinois). The Quad Cities is 3 hours south-west of Chicago, 4 hours north of St. Louis, and less than 3 hours from Des Moines. The Quad Cities is home to St. Ambrose University among 8 educational institutes. Major outdoor summer music festivals include the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival, Mississippi Valley Blues Festival, and River Roots Live.
