Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced WiFi Network Engineer to join our team. This role involves planning, forecasting, implementing, and identifying resource requirements for high-complexity wireless network systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and enhancing large-scale wireless network environments, while also recommending performance and reliability improvements. This position requires strong expertise in carrier-grade / enterprise-scale Wi-Fi deployments and a deep understanding of wireless network architecture, protocols, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in wireless network planning, architecture design, and engineering activities.
  • Design and implement wireless network architectures and configurations for complex enterprise environments.
  • Integrate and schematically represent communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission methods, signaling links, and protocols into complete wireless network configurations.
  • Evaluate new wireless products and technologies for suitability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve wireless network issues across large-scale deployments.
  • Develop and implement approved Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
  • Design, develop, and implement wireless network enhancements.
  • Recommend and drive improvements related to performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with SMEs, engineering teams, and product engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of wireless networking fundamentals, including the OSI Model, TCP/IP, and related protocols.
  • Strong understanding of wireless industry standards such as IEEE, ANSI, and 802.11 variants.
  • Strong knowledge of bridging, switching, routing, Ethernet, and transport technologies.
  • Proficient in wireless network design, architecture, protocols, and topology.
  • Knowledge of wireless network devices and appliances.
  • Experience with wireless network design tools such as Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education, Certifications & Training

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Cisco Certified Wireless Network Professional (CCNP Wireless) or equivalent preferred.
  • Wireless industry and vendor-specific training/certifications such as Cisco, Arris, Ruckus, or similar.

Experience Required

  • 5+ years of hands-on wireless network engineering experience.
  • 10+ years of overall applicable specialized technical experience.
  • Proven experience working with large-scale wireless environments.

Must-Have Requirements

  • Must have carrier-grade / enterprise-scale Wi-Fi experience, not small office or residential deployments.
  • Experience with large Wi-Fi network deployments, including Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E, and Wi-Fi 7.
  • Must be a seasoned Wi-Fi Engineer, not someone who has only installed a few access points.
  • Must come from a wireless Wi-Fi engineering background, not a 5G / cellular-only profile.

Preferred Background

  • Experience supporting high-scale enterprise or carrier-grade wireless deployments.
  • Experience with wireless design, implementation, and operational support.
  • Background in complex network environments with cross-functional collaboration.

Soft Skills / Operational Expectations

  • Strong operations background with the ability to communicate clearly, speak confidently, and represent the team well.
  • Comfortable working with SMEs, engineering teams, and product engineering teams.
  • Must bring the right professional presence, communication skills, personality, and team collaboration mindset.
