Network Analyst II

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Analyst II. This is an onsite contract role in Houston, Texas (TX).

Summary:
The main function of a Network Analyst is to determine user requirements and design specifications for computer networks. A typical network engineer is responsible for planning and implementing network upgrades.

Responsibilities:
* Planning, design, and installation of routers, switches, or other network components
* Conduct network troubleshooting using network protocol analysis tools such as Wireshark
* Conduct knowledge transfer activities with peers or other support groups
* Responsible for vendor comparisons as needed
* Maintain network drawings
* Provide testing for new network hardware and software solutions
* Accountable for adhering to Change Management process for network related incidents
* Participates in process improvement initiatives
* Serve as member of technical team on selected large-scale substation networking projects
* Provides support, testing, troubleshooting for all business applications
* Utilize intelligent network management tools to isolate problems or improve network performance

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field required
* 2-4 years of experience required
* Network/systems administration/related work experience required
* Knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage
* Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software
* Demonstrate a working knowledge of the following: spanning tree, routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), VLAN technologies, WAN protocols
* Possess good working knowledge and experience in planning, design, installation, and support of LAN (Ethernet, Gig-Ethernet)
* Possess good working knowledge and experience in Industrial Control Systems (ICS) protocols such as: CONITEL, DNP, Modbus and 68150
* Possess good working knowledge of cybersecurity
* Possess good NERC-CIP knowledge and SME (Subject Matter Expert) during audits
* Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
