Maintenance Technician

Location: Belcamp, Maryland (On-site)

Duration: Permanent direct hire

Salary: $70,000 annually

Role Overview

We are seeking two Electro-Mechanical Technicians to focus on industrial maintenance, equipment uptime, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance in a plant environment. These roles are critical to reducing downtime and supporting safe plant operations by performing multi-craft maintenance across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems. Candidates should be comfortable working at heights and operating around mobile equipment like forklifts and scissor lifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial plant equipment, including conveyors, pumps, motors, agitators, centrifuges, sifters, robotic arms, and packaging equipment.
  • Perform multi-craft maintenance across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems to reduce downtime.
  • Execute preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and documentation using a CMMS such as SAP.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, ladder logic, VFDs, motors, wiring, control devices, and voltage-related issues.
  • Perform calibration and repair work on instruments such as flow, pressure, temperature, level, pH, and density devices.
  • Support mechanical repair tasks such as alignment, balancing, rigging, fabrication, and welding as needed.
  • Commit to and participate in a strong safety culture aiming for zero injuries.
  • Communicate the status of daily assignments to maintenance supervisors and planners.
Required Qualifications

Education: A High School Diploma or GED is required.

Experience: Hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, chemical, food processing, pharmaceutical, or similar production environment is required. Candidates must have a foundation in mechanical troubleshooting of rotating equipment and electrical troubleshooting experience with motors, VFDs, and control devices.

Technical Skills:
  • Working knowledge of conveyors, pumps, motors, and related rotating equipment.
  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting of motors, wiring, control devices, VFDs, and safety relays.
  • Proficiency with hand and shop tools, including volt/amp meters and meggers.
  • Ability to lift and carry 55 lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PLC troubleshooting and ladder logic knowledge.
  • Instrumentation calibration and repair experience.
  • Experience with centrifuges or other rotational equipment.
  • Welding, fabrication, alignment, balancing, or rigging experience.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or another CMMS.
  • An Instrument Electrical Certification is a plus.
Work Schedule
  • One opening is for the A-shift, which is a rotating 12-hour schedule (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM).
  • One opening is for a second-shift schedule.
  • The ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required is necessary.
