Job Summary:
System One is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Automation for a permanent opportunity near Seaford, DE or Northwest, AR. The Sr. Software Engineer will be responsible for designing and building scalable, end-to-end solutions across both front and backend systems. This role translates complex business needs into scalable automation solutions, including agentic workflows, Power Automate integrations, microservices, APIs, and data integrations. You will also bring UI/UX designs to life through intuitive, responsive front-end applications.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who delivers clean, efficient, and resilient solutions across the full technology stack, with a strong focus on user experience and business impact.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices and APIs using Python, TypeScript, and modern frameworks
- Develop and manage RESTful APIs supporting front-end applications, internal systems, and automation workflows
- Build and manage cloud-native infrastructure on AWS, including Lambda and event-driven architectures
- Integrate AWS services (e.g., Amazon Bedrock) for AI and automation use cases
- Design and implement agentic workflows, orchestration logic, and integrations with platforms such as Power Automate
- Write and maintain backend unit and integration tests. Identify and address performance, scalability, and technical debt challenges
- Translate UI/UX designs and product requirements into high-quality, responsive interfaces, including automation-focused UIs that surface workflows and decision points
- Collaborate with Product Owners and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences
- Write clean, reusable, and testable code, including unit and integration tests (e.g., Jasmine, Karma)
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
- Serve as a technical leader and mentor through code reviews, pairing, and coaching
- Contribute to architecture decisions, technical roadmaps, and cross-team standards
- Lead security best practices, including reviews and threat modeling
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (Angular) and Python
- Experience with AWS, including Lambda and event-driven architectures
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing automation solutions, including agentic workflows, event-driven integrations, and low-code/no-code platforms such as Power Automate
- Familiarity with LLM-based tooling and AI services such as Amazon Bedrock.
- Experience with Docker, and Kubernetes; working knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL
- Solid experience with HTML5, CSS3, and preprocessors (SASS/LESS)
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and OWASP standards
- Proficiency with Git and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude)
