Enterprise Data Architect (Data Catalog & Governance Focus)
Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid)
Duration: 12+month contract with expectation to extend
Compensation: $85–$95/hour W2 + benefits
Innovar Group is partnering with a Denver-based organization seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to support the next phase of their enterprise data architecture program. The foundational architecture has already been established, and this role will focus on operationalizing the enterprise data catalog strategy, expanding governance visibility across systems, and helping design how automation-driven metadata, lineage, and cataloging workflows are implemented across the organization.
This is a strategic architecture role—not a data engineering position. The ideal candidate will help move an existing architecture blueprint into a scalable, automated enterprise catalog environment aligned to business processes and compliance needs.
What You’ll Be Working On
- Expand and mature an existing enterprise data architecture framework
- Lead the design and rollout of an enterprise data catalog strategy
- Evaluate and help select cataloging platforms (e.g., Microsoft Purview or similar)
- Define metadata standards including ownership, lineage, classification, and retention
- Design how catalog automation connects across systems such as Azure, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Workday
- Enable automated scanning and lineage capture across enterprise platforms
- Align data catalog structure to business domains and enterprise processes
- Support governance visibility and compliance readiness through catalog adoption
- Partner with technical and business stakeholders to operationalize catalog usage
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working as an Enterprise Data Architect who has worked to lead and strategize data catalog strategy and lineage design.
- Experience evaluating and implementing enterprise catalog platforms
- Experience designing automation-driven catalog scanning and governance workflows
- Experience working across enterprise platforms such as Azure, Salesforce, ServiceNow, or Workday
- Ability to translate business processes into enterprise data architecture strategy
- Strong stakeholder communication across technical and business teams
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting enterprise governance frameworks
- Experience implementing catalog automation across multi-platform environments
- Background working in hybrid cloud enterprise environments
