About the Role

We are seeking a ServiceNow Lead Software Engineer to join the Cybersecurity group's Technology Exposure Management Engineering team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and support of the ServiceNow Vulnerability Response (VR) module, enabling scalable and secure enterprise cybersecurity solutions.

You will work cross-functionally with technical governance, platform architecture, ServiceNow developers, and production support teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards, security controls, and compliance requirements. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to consult on complex, large-scale software engineering initiatives.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation, configuration, and customization of ServiceNow Vulnerability Response solutions, including scripting and workflow automation.
  • Design, develop, test, document, and maintain high-quality software deliverables using approved standards and tools.
  • Act as a technical escalation point and provide guidance to less-experienced engineers.
  • Resolve complex coding, testing, integration, and platform issues.
  • Ensure delivered solutions are secure, scalable, and compliant with enterprise architecture, risk, and governance standards.
  • Partner with platform engineering and production support teams, providing L3 production support as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, senior technology leaders, and external partners to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Lead or contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives with broad organizational impact.
  • Develop and manage ServiceNow integrations using RESTful or SOAP APIs.
  • Support Agile delivery practices and participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain technical and functional documentation in Confluence.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent experience gained through work, consulting, training, military service, or education.
  • 7+ years of experience in specialized software engineering or application development.
  • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing service-oriented architecture (SOA) solutions and consulting on such architectures.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing applications on the ServiceNow platform.
  • 1+ year of experience with ServiceNow Vulnerability Response.
  • 1+ year of experience with web technologies, including JavaScript (ES5+), HTML, CSS/SCSS, and SQL.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator.
  • Ability to obtain ServiceNow Application Developer certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with ServiceNow Vulnerability Response.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer.
  • ServiceNow Implementation Specialist - Vulnerability Response.
  • ServiceNow micro-certifications (Service Portal, ATF, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, etc.).
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS or React.
  • 2+ years of experience with RESTful or SOAP-based web services.
  • 2+ years of experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Integration experience with vulnerability and security tools such as Qualys, Wiz, NVD, Black Duck, and Checkmarx.
  • Strong understanding of web-based protocols and industry standards.
Work Environment
  • Hybrid schedule requiring onsite presence 3 days per week at a core location.
  • Primary location for this role: Charlotte, NC.
