Summary

DC Technician Lead

Burlington, TX Onsite
We are seeking an experienced DC Technician Lead to oversee fiber installation and infrastructure projects within a large-scale data center environment. This position combines hands-on technical work with field leadership, making it an excellent fit for someone who enjoys leading teams while remaining actively involved in project execution.

What You'll Be Doing

Team Leadership

  • Lead and supervise a team of fiber technicians working onsite
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor project progress
  • Conduct safety meetings and daily team briefings
  • Mentor technicians and support professional development
  • Enforce safety standards, company policies, and industry best practices

Project Execution

  • Support and oversee fiber optic installations within a data center environment
  • Coordinate work involving:
    • Single-mode and multimode fiber cabling
    • Structured cabling systems
    • Fiber trays, ladder racks, and cable pathways
    • Rack-and-stack deployments
  • Review blueprints, cable schedules, and network diagrams
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet quality standards

Technical Responsibilities

  • Oversee fiber splicing, termination, and testing activities
  • Utilize testing equipment such as OTDRs, power meters, and VFL tools
  • Troubleshoot network and fiber infrastructure issues
  • Verify proper labeling, documentation, and cable management practices
  • Ensure all installations meet project specifications and quality requirements

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a culture of safety on all job sites
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety requirements
  • Identify and mitigate potential workplace hazards
  • Verify proper PPE usage and safe work practices

Qualifications

  • Experience working in data center environments
  • Fiber optic installation and construction experience
  • Prior leadership or foreman experience leading technical teams
  • Experience managing project execution and field operations
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and network diagrams
  • Familiarity with fiber testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
