GIS Specialist-Expert - Contract - Raleigh, NC - $55.00 - $60.00/hr.

The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's/applicant's qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a GIS Specialist-Expert in Raleigh, NC.

Role Description

GIS Specialists provides technical support for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) within the state government specifically for the Department of Transportation, Highway Patrol, often working with various agencies and departments.
Responsibilities include assisting with GIS requests, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

They will provide GIS support as it relates to responding to requests for GIS products and services; they will do a lot of troubleshooting, as it relates to identifying and resolving issues related to GIS software, data and workflows.

They will work with ArcGIS Suite including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online

Skills & Requirements

Expert requires 5+ years of the below
Jr requires 2 years of the below
Must have data capture experience - this is the process of gathering geographic or attribute information from a variety of sources and converting it into a digital GIS-ready format
Must have some customer support experience; any customer support dealing with consume conflicts, issues, problem resolution
Must have experience with ArcGIS Suite including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Oline (this may be listed as AGOL on a resume)
Must have demonstrated troubleshooting experience. During the interview, they will be asked some role-play questions about troubleshooting.
Must have very strong communication
