Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) / QA Automation Engineer to join a fast-paced engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong software development and automation engineering skills, with hands-on experience in Python, Playwright, and Selenium.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on designing and developing scalable test automation frameworks, automating complex workflows across UI, API, backend, and database layers, and improving overall software quality. The candidate should be capable of building automation frameworks from the ground up, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and contributing to automation strategy and engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Python, Playwright, and Selenium.

  • Build automated test suites for web applications, APIs, backend services, and end-to-end workflows.

  • Develop reusable automation libraries, utilities, and testing components.

  • Perform functional, regression, integration, UI, API, and database testing.

  • Write complex SQL queries for data validation, backend verification, and troubleshooting.

  • Build new automation frameworks and support modernization or migration of legacy frameworks.

  • Debug application issues, perform root cause analysis, and investigate production defects.

  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and frequent releases.

  • Collaborate with software engineers, product teams, and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to framework architecture, coding standards, and testing best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in SDET, QA Automation Engineering, or Software Quality Engineering.

  • Strong hands-on programming experience with Python.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright for test automation.

  • Experience with Selenium and automation framework development, maintenance, or migration.

  • Proven experience building automation frameworks from the ground up.

  • Strong experience in API testing and end-to-end test automation across UI, API, and database layers.

  • Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, data validation, and backend analysis.

  • Strong understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms, Design Patterns, and Software Engineering Best Practices.

  • Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment with changing priorities.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

  • Experience with performance and load testing.

  • Knowledge of microservices and distributed systems.

  • Experience supporting high-volume production applications.

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a strong software engineer who can design and build reliable automation frameworks rather than simply execute test cases. They should demonstrate strong coding skills, understand application architecture, take ownership of technical challenges, and continuously improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and software reliability.

Important: Python and Playwright are mandatory requirements.
