Product Manager

Werner Consulting Group LLC (WCG) is a Denver based IT consulting and placement firm. We have a client in downtown Denver looking for a product manager for the position shown below. This is a six month contract position to start but could easily extend beyond that. They would like someone to go into the office three days per month.

Overview

The Product Manager AI owns the product vision, strategy, and execution for AI-powered solutions within the Atlas business lane at client. This role leads product strategy and execution for two high-priority AI initiatives, focused on scaling AI solutions across various internal client business lanes to deliver measurable business and financial value.

The role will split time as a product manager between two high priority AI product initiatives, dedicating 50% of time supporting a high priority People Services (AKA Human Resources) AI product initiative, and remaining 50% of the time supporting a high priority Finance and Procurement AI product initiative. The two high priority focus areas for this role include productizing AI to improve HR hiring workflows and retention and leveraging AI to enable improved supplier spend analytics to reduce administrative burden and deliver financial savings for clients finance and procurement divisions.

Key Responsibilities

• AI product management and delivery of value realization for two client Top 10 AI initiatives supporting People Services, Finance, and Procurement business lanes (Sourcing and Selection & Supplier Spend Intelligence/ SpendIQ)
• Provide regular status updates on AI-related milestones, risks / blockers, delivery, and value realization progress to product and IT leadership, business boundary partners, and other stakeholders. Key tasks include providing weekly sprint content updates, updating executive communication and project plans, and ensuring alignment across multiple business lanes.
• Partner with People Services Transformation and Project Management teams, HRIS, and technology teams with ownership of AI product management (discovery, requirements, launch, and lifecycle) to improve recruiting workflows, hiring retention, and maximize value realization.
• Partner with Procurement and Finance, AI Product / IT / Technology teams, with ownership of AI product (discovery, requirements, launch, and lifecycle) to deliver an internal intelligent spend tool that identifies areas of opportunity to reduce supplier spend for client.
• Track and report progress toward product OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), aligning outcomes to agreed value metrics.
• Interface between business and technical teams for product discovery, prototype building, pilots, scaled rollouts, and lifecycle management.
• Manage / update Atlas AI product roadmap for two initiatives
• Lead projects through required governance and approvals within client (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, and Privacy) to support responsible AI delivery.
• Collaborate with AI, data science, and engineering teams to define use cases, deploy AI / ML models, and improve accuracy, performance, and scalability over time.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis in AI to inform product strategy, innovation, and deployment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product management or related technical experience, with 3+ years in a Product Manager role.
• 3+ years of Agile product development experience.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and common model lifecycle considerations (training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring).
• Strong stakeholder management experience, across both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Working knowledge of AI, HIPAA and healthcare privacy safeguards

Bonus / Desired Skills

• Experience with agentic AI product management and cloud-native AI infrastructure.
• Experience deploying machine learning, data mining, and predictive modeling into enterprise workflows.
• Experience with People Services/HR/Talent Acquisition processes and technologies.
• Experience with finance, accounting, and/or procurement processes and technologies.
• Experience with clinical data management systems.
• Experience designing and deploying generative and agentic AI solutions within enterprise workflows
