We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Customs Entry Writer to join our team in the Manufacturing Industry. This role is crucial to ensuring the smooth and legal operations of our international trade activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, compiling and managing all documentation and records required to clear goods through the United States Customs Service (USCS), including negotiating with, and presenting declarations to, foreign and domestic customs officials.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Customs Entry Writer, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure our company's compliance with customs regulations. These include:
1. Preparing and processing import and export documentation according to customs regulations, laws, or procedures.
2. Calculating duty and tariff payments owed on shipments.
3. Handling FDA (PGA) requirements and ensuring all data is accurately captured and reported.
4. Maintaining and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and efficient operations.
5. Providing exceptional customer service, addressing and resolving any issues or complaints promptly.
6. Working closely with the Customs Compliance Manager to ensure that all activities are in line with the latest customs regulations.
7. Collaborating with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely clearance and delivery of goods.
8. Organizing and maintaining records of all customs-related documents.
9. Tracking and coordinating the shipment of goods from the point of origin to the point of destination.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should possess the following:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the Manufacturing Industry.
2. Comprehensive knowledge of customs procedures, laws, and regulations.
3. Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
4. Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all stakeholders.
5. Strong knowledge of FDA (PGA) requirements and the ability to handle such requirements efficiently.
6. Proficiency in using computer applications related to the job, such as Microsoft Office Suite and customs declaration software.
7. The ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
8. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
9. A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
